Blog » Recording The Morningstar EP: Day 14

Everyone take breathe a big sigh of relief. The day is finally here. Recording for The Morningstar EP is complete. More importantly, I finally got my chance to be drunk on the album. I recorded the vocals for the first verse, went out and had several beers and shots of tequila, then returned to write/record the last two verses. Some may say there’s a noticeable dip in quality…but I think it simply becomes more metal. Because I’m several drinks/shots in this post will be limited as not to embarrass myself. So, below are the lyrics…and afterwords will be a VERY brief synopsis, lulz.

“Drink To Your Destruction”
as performed by The Apache Revolver

The Narrator: “In the beginning the Heavens were not void. Darkness breathed from within.”
The Creator: “Darkness preceeds me.”
The Narrator: “From fear He gave us light, and it was good.”
The Creator: “All that followeth me shall not walk in the shadows.”
The Narrator: “So sayeth the Lord.”
The Creator: “Thou my son, indeed. but the kindness I have done.”
The Creator: “Does not destroy the darkness among the righteous.”
The Narrator: “There was darkness where God was. The creator, cut down, shouted, ‘My son…what have you done?’”
The Creator: “You…once good. I will judge. I must judge betwixt us.”
The Creator: “This drink will be the last to grace your lips.”
The Creator: “He believeth he will not be damned from this world by my hand. They all might be damned from believeth not in the truth.”
The Narrator: “So sayeth the Lord.”

Alright. We all know the story so far. The Morningstar has a bunch of potential, he’s unsure of his ability to meet The Creator’s expectations…and that results in a little bit of fighting during track 4. So, during this track, track 3, we just get God/The Creator getting all kinds of upset with The Morningstar and the darkness that is inside of him. I’m not going to explain any further because I’m tired and I need to wake up early tomorrow.

Peace, bros.
